Are you interested in being part of a multi-discipline Engineering Team on a complex manufacturing site focussed on our team, our ways of working and future site development so we can grow together?

We are looking for experienced C/E Engineering Technicians to join our Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre. We have approximately 450 employees and we are investing in our infrastructure, ways of working and capabilities of our teams to support our site growth.

What we offer:

  • £41,993 - £44,932 per annum
  • £7,178 additional hours allowance per annum (for 200 hours overtime purchased at 1.6 rate)
  • 37.5 working hours per week Mon – Fri (7:50am – 3:30pm)
  • 3.5 rota days off over Christmas + hours bank of 41 hours to use throughout the year for occasional time off.
  • Generous Holiday Entitlement of 31.5 days plus bank holidays

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you’ll be working closely with the local engineering and production teams to:

  • Carry out first line defect identification, demonstrating fault finding skills on electrical and instrumentation systems utilising Root Cause Analysis methods and experience using fault / status diagnostic tools (i.e. PLC Software / CBM tools) and test equipment.
  • Complete and review risk assessments and method statements associated with maintenance activities.
  • Interpret EC&I engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Liaise with contractors and equipment vendors for your area.
  • Provide technical support to the EC&I project team, local engineering team and process personnel.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities for plant improvement in terms of safety and reliability.
  • Support and coach Apprentices providing technical validation.
  • Be an integral player in the team driving change and measuring progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience in process plant or FMCG based electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance with a minimum of HNC or NVQ equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2382 (IET 18th Edition).
  • Compex 1 to 6 (desirable).
  • A working knowledge of:
    • Computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS) / planned and preventative maintenance systems (i.e. SAP).
    • HSEQ standards, preferably as applied to working on a Top Tier COMAH installation.
    • Instrumentation alarm and trip testing as required by the process (desirable).

Additional Information

The EC&I Technician teams perform an integral role in producing the products ensuring health and safety compliance, plant availability and continuous improvement across the site.
