C/E Engineering Technician

• Carry out first line defect identification & elimination through use of effective problem-solving techniques, including route cause analysis and the five whys etc to avoid abortive & inefficient working.
• Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards and codes.
• Assist engineering in plant design, modification and hazard analysis.
• Provide local engineering support, giving technical support & training to all process personnel to carry out engineering activities.
• Assist with the development of the sites Apprentices by training, coaching and validating the individuals as part of their development.
• Deliver opportunities for plant improvement in terms of safety, reliability and plant expenditure.
• Deliver significant “development” tasks as an individual and within teams.
• Own & deliver UK and Syngenta C&E compliance to ensure plants main fully compliant for their primary area.

• Typically, 3 – 5 years of experience in plant based maintenance with a minimum of  HNC in an appropriate technical discipline.
• Understand HSEQ standards & requirements and their application, through safe systems of work, to working on a Top Tier COMAH site.
• An in-depth knowledge of the relevant engineering systems, equipment & procedures.
• A working knowledge of SAP and good computer literacy.
• Knowledgeable in overall plant systems and interactions of processes.
• Sufficient knowledge of the management of change system to be an “owner” and “originator” as required.
• Approval for SIL 1 & 2 authorisation within the A&T test system across site.
• Have a detailed knowledge of the overall plant control systems, technology and interactions of reaction processes.
• Demonstrate excellent risk assessments abilities.
• Demonstrate proactive use of Profibus capabilities such as diagnostics and condition monitoring.
• Fully conversant with the use of portable PC’s, configuration / communication software (Pactware) packages and hardware to configure & diagnose programmable equipment.
