Role Purpose:

Syngenta Seedcare’s ambition, is to take a leading position in the Biological market in 5Y-10Y period of time and generate value for customers and Syngenta revenue. The role of the Biologicals Product & Business Development Manager reports to Seedcare Portfolio Development Lead EAME and is part of the broader EAME Seedcare team. It’s a critical and key contributor role, to the bold ambition to become the #1 leading company in Biological Seed Treatment.

  • Manage and lead Biological Product branding, pricing, value proposition, supply/demand forecast optimization.
  • Drive continued & profitable market share growth for the assigned Biological products through the development of Biologicals product brand plans designed to serve customer needs, in a sustainable way.
  • Manage the product pipeline and define offers considering biologicals and combinations with chemistry.
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, partnerships and new GTM options to propose, for reaching new or existing markets with new offers and stories.
  • 3rd party in-licensing activities to fill the pipeline for Biologicals, in close collaboration with Market Development Managers.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as the go-to person for the assigned Biological products.
  • Ensure execution of the Biologicals product strategy and tactics to meet the business and financial objectives of the Region.
  • Together with Seedcare Portfolio Development Lead EAME, Seedcare Commercial Portfolio Lead EAME and Seedcare Technical Expert EAME, design and develop Integrated solutions and differentiated portfolio offers.
  • Support the Market Development Managers in establishing a ready for future portfolio across EAME.
  • Market Analysis, Planning and Strategy development with relevant Global Biologicals colleagues.
  • Generate internal biologicals product knowledge by learning and scaling and sharing this knowledge across EAME commercial teams.
  • Provide guidance and all necessary information about market trends and competitor movements to BUs, to ensure a credible 5Y planning in close collaboration with Market Development Managers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Agronomy, Marketing, Business or Science
  • Understanding of Biologicals specifics and experience from working with relevant products and markets
  • 3-5 years’ experience, in marketing or sales roles in agribusiness – preferably in the biological space
  • In-market experience, under a commercial environment
  • Excellence in agronomy and CP knowledge – specifically in biological products
  • Agronomy and marketing acumen, understanding of the market needs and trends
  • Understanding of the value of technical information in delivering sound value propositions
  • Data interpretation - conversion from data to insights
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, fluent in English, every other European language is a strong plus
