At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. To support this challenge, Syngenta’s HR Operations team is currently seeking a Benefits Analyst.

The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for providing Health & Wellness employee and retiree benefits service management support.  This role will serve as vendors first point of contact for escalations and will be the liaison between Syngenta HR Operations and vendors.  The Benefits Analyst will work with a variety of internal and external customers with elevated levels of responsibility. This role will also serve as backup for the Compensation and/or Investment/Retirement Savings Administration.

Accountabilities

  • Vendor Management
    • Work closely with multiple health & wellness benefits vendors to ensure accurate and timely benefits offering per the Syngenta plans
    • Research, troubleshoot and resolve complex participant plan, process and system questions from the vendors, internal stakeholders, and plan participants
    • Collect, compile, and analyze data to improve the administrative practices and internal process workflows; create, prepare, and compile related reports
  • Benefits Administration
    • Administer benefits not handled by a third-party vendor
    • Provide data and historical research assistance to determine eligibility for retiree benefits
    • Perform monthly sampling audit of vendor services such as leave management cases
  • Project Management
    • Manage Annual Enrollment for active employees and retirees
    • Lead adhoc projects as assigned
  • Audit and Compliance
    • Validate VEBA valuation/census data produced by actuarial vendor
    • Provide and validate data to ERISA and Financial external auditors
    • Manage federal compliance for Affordable Care Act
    • Responsible for coordinating distribution of legal required Plan notices
    • Oversee Medicare Part D process
  • Invoice/Finance
    • Carry out invoice management activities to include creation of invoice, submission to Finance, and/or approvals
    • Perform monthly reconciliation of vendor invoices and report to Finance department
    • Perform COBRA chargeback process for severed employees

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Human Resources or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years in analysis, administration, communication and compliance of health and wellness benefits plans
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with administration of Health and Wellness Benefit Plans
  • Knowledge with administration of Pension and Defined Contribution Plans
  • Strong industry knowledge of benefits and benefits administration, best practices, processing workflows, applications, and systems to ensure compliance with ERISA, DOL, IRS, and PBGC
