Assistant Manager, Tolling Operations

Role purpose

Within the scope of 3rd party manufacturing (tolling), the purpose of this role is to keep the Syngenta supply on time in accordance of Sales & improve quality/compliance & risk to a minimum at all times.

• Ensure supply on time by effective production plan and material management.
• Ensure full compliance of tollers with Syngenta's HSES and quality requirements.
• Coordinate and consult the different Syngenta functions on tolling and toller related topics; act as single key point of contact on managerial level.

Accountabilities

In support of the country P&S strategy, business priorities and budget targets.

• Production planning & material management of Tolling site.
• Ensure QOTIF targets are met through effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Accountable for Syngenta HSES policies, quality policies, Crop Life guidance, and good stewardship are understood and adopted by the toller; enforce appropriate management processes at the toller.
• First point of contact to ensure all input in the system (SAP/Others). Ensure master data are set correctly.
• Report and manage any significant, continuing risks and compliance gaps.
• Address any significant operational issues that arise at the toller.
• Define and manage toller relationship in collaboration with Procurement per T.O.M.
• Support HSES and quality audits and drive timely response on findings and action plans.
• Investigate complaints and ensure resolution through the appropriate interfaces.
• Ensure product specific documentation is complete and correct; implement any product change requests impacting products at tollers.
• Measure toller performance (capability mapping) and drive continuous improvement where appropriate.
• Work closely with Procurement business partner to control the cost/saving opportunities, OLAs & any projects.
• Investigate production usage / toll fee variances and ensure resolution through appropriate interfaces and responsible for defining scrap factors.

Education:

• MSc/BSc in Engineering, MBA/BBA in supply or any other relevant fields.

Critical Experience (Experience/Previous Roles required for Job)

Five years professional experience in a manufacturing or a technical role with close manufacturing interface.

Critical Knowledge (Education/ Development expected for Job)

• Basic understanding of formulation, fill & pack technology and processes.
• Good grasp of 3rd party relationship management.
• Good knowledge of HSE, Quality and Regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Working experience in a manufacturing environment.
