Role purpose

  • Design & implement a comprehensive Communication strategy for AMEA Seeds Field Crops that aligns with & drives delivery of the AMEA FC strategy & Must Wins across 15 AMEA countries. 
  • Role is the MAIN point of contact and has dotted line reporting to AMEA region Head of Sustainability and Cooperate affairs to ensure continuity, best practice sharing & alignment across all Business Units (CP, Seeds, Biologicals etc)
  • Lead and drive sustainability agenda for AMEA FC Sustainability; Ensure Global Sustainability Strategy is embedded in AMEA & working with country & global teams to identify & manage LTO risks both long & short-term; for both our key crops of corn and Rice, including ONE Rice Strategy.  Designing communications to directly address these.
  • Act as the key Sustainability & FTO touchpoint for our global and country teams – work with them to embed our sustainability strategy into our AMEA field crops culture across countries and functions
  • Drive the AMEA Field Crops comms/sustainability agenda within the overall AMEA Comms/Sustainability team
  • Ensure our Field Crops comms & sustainability is consistently aligned with the rest of Syngenta Group ensuring consistent Syngenta Brand experience for all our external stakeholders which include key independent bodies such as Crop Life Asia
  • Leverage marketing insights to enhance customer engagement and experience across the AMEA region.
  • Facilitate decentralized communication strategies, benchmarking country-level team capability & providing resource to improve this capability whilst empowering country-level teams for tailored decision-making that resonates with local markets.
  • Oversee and manage internal communications to ensure alignment while fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration, especially during periods of change.
  • Work with AMEA Marketing & Strategy Head to ensure that regional field crop 5YR and 15YR plans are well understood and clear to all internal stakeholders
  • Be the key communications touchpoint for all AMEA Regional FCLT assisting in cross functional internal comms/sustainability narratives

Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute dynamic branding and communication strategies, emphasizing the unique value proposition and sustainability efforts of Seeds Field Crops in AMEA.
  • Utilize marketing tools and analytics to create targeted engagement strategies, improving the customer journey and interaction with the brand.
  • Spearhead sustainability initiatives, ensuring that the brand’s commitment to sustainability is clearly communicated and integrated into all marketing and communication efforts.
  • Ensure strong connection with other Business Units (CP, Seedcare & Biologicals) communication strategy allowing sharing of initiatives, continuity & maximizing synergies.
  • Explore and assess opportunities for brand expansion into new segments or geographies, conducting market analysis and adapting strategies to meet diverse customer needs.
  • Empower country-level teams with the communication tools and strategies needed for effective customer engagement, reflecting local insights and preferences.
  • Implement any global engagement programs.
  • Provide leadership, advice and support on storytelling in business communications
  • Guide and partner with HR to deliver communication and engagement plans that build a
    customer-centric, inclusive and high-performance culture
  • Foster a culture of listening and dialog between leaders and employees and address
    employee feedback working with leaders, using digital platforms like Yammer, town halls
    and other channels
  • Work independently with global Communications team and the AMEA Sustainability and
    Corporate Affairs Team to ensure key initiatives, projects issues and stories are effectively
    communicated internally and externally
  • Collaborate across CUs and countries to ensure cohesive branding and communication strategies.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for branding, communication, and sustainability efforts, making data-driven adjustments to optimize effectiveness.
  • Lead change management communications, crafting compelling messages that support the organization through transitions.

Leadership and people management:

  • Through our communication strategy define and communicate what AMEA FC stands for both for our customers and employees.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, capabilities

  • Proven track record in communications (10+ years)
  • Experience within a global, matrixed organization
  • Development of communication strategies to address complex business challenges
  • Working in a changing business environment.
  • Understanding of the Seeds business
  • Ability to influence relationships throughout the business and functions.
  • Strong role model for Syngenta leadership behaviours- ACCOUNTABLE, CURIOUS, COURAGEOUS, COLLABORATIVE

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in communications (10+ years)
  • Bachelors Degree in Comms or related discipline
  • Knowledge of communications best practice, including change communications, social
    media and external communications
  • Agri-business market experience & Business understanding
  • Experience in varied content development for external channels, including social media.
  • Cultural Awareness
  • Understanding of the Seeds business
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to influence relationships throughout the business and functions.
