The Financial Analyst is required to prepare and collect financial information for the respective Reporting Units/Countries (budget, LO, actuals, sales forecasts), provide high quality functional cost controlling and financial analysis to business managers and area controllers, and maintains good and continuous relationship with frontline people

Accountabilities

  • To provide timely and insightful financial analysis to support all key business decisions. (i.e: Go To Markets)
  • To run the key reporting processes to ensure timely completion of budget, forecast and actual information requirements, coordinating across the region/territory, meet agreed group deadlines.
  • To develop, implement and provide suitable financial reports to meet the needs of various business partners including Commercial and R&D.
  • To act as support (business analysis) to the Area Management Teams, working closely with the AME Finance BP, EFO analysts, and Veg Finance contacts overall.
  • To ensure best practices sharing, training and support with Veg EFO analysts and across the Veg Finance BPs in the region in the effective use of financial reporting systems to ensure effective control of the business.
  • Engagement with Commercial & R&D organization to understand their needs and requirements and response quickly to ensure business as usual.
  • Close collaboration and coordination with AME Business Partners (BP's) and Regional/Other Reporting teams (i.e. EFO).
  • Drive processes and best practices across the territory to make sure the team is inline with Syngenta Ways of Working.
  • Ad-hoc Projects as necessary to support the business in deep-diving in different business critical areas to give a better visibility on the way forward decisions.
  • Manage the R&D E2E LO/BUD process with stakeholders.
  • Manage ad-hoc regional requests for consolidation and project management for new WoW or systems.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of reporting, budgeting, forecasting and planning processes for extended and large organizations.
  • Sound understanding of key financial concepts, solid theoretical background in finance and accounting.
  • Good working experience of Financial reporting systems and tools.

MBA degree in Finance/Economics, preferably supported with post graduate professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, or similar)

  • Experience in the understanding and effective communication of financial results to non-financial staff

Business facing experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, especially commercial functions.

  • ability to quickly learn and apply new skills, and development oriented
  • ability to effectively analyze numerical information, present conclusions and recommendations in a clear way
  • ability to influence business stakeholders
  • ability to work under pressure while keeping high quality of output

ability to combine attention to details and understanding the big picture

  • Close collaboration and coordination with AME Business Partners (BP's) and EFO analysts.
  • Engagement with Commercial & R&D organization in order to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Personal development: Develop understanding of commercial activities through collaboration with non-finance people.
  • Technical development in finance skills, sound knowledge of key systems (EDWH, BFC, MRH, SAP Cloud Solutions)
  • Sense of urgency combined with good prioritisation skills.
  • Ownership of problems through to completion and good solution oriented mindset.
  • Simplifying topics to help local teams understanding complex financial concepts or business impacts.
