Agronomy Internship

This position offers a unique opportunity to students in agricultural sciences (ETH / HAFL) or related fields (e.g. Biology) to familiarize with applied crop protection research. We offer you a versatile rotational internship with the possibility to work in the following three core areas: Field Trialing (workplace Stein, AG or adjacent sites), Global Technical Management (workplace Basel, BS) and Swiss Marketing & Sales (workplace Stein, AG).

Your responsibilities:

Field Trialing, Stein AG (2-3 months)

• Support in planning, implementing & executing field trial programs with new crop protection products
• Generating high quality field trial information on a variety of crops (e.g. cereals, corn, vines or apples) and pests (e.g. diseases, weeds or insects).
• Working with new technologies such as digital tools, drones, software, and solutions and other equipment
• Evaluate new technologies and support their implementation on the field station
• Proactive interaction with key stakeholders such as internal trial requestor
• Evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting the own trial results

Global Technical Management, Basel BS (2-3 months)

• Support in data analysis of international field trials carried out with new insecticides as well as with biologicals
• Actively accompany interfunctional meetings with marketing, regulatory and other functions
• Analyze small stand-alone projects on a specific question such as activity of a new biological/molecule on a given pest including statistics or other necessary tools
• Get involved in new digital tools as well as precision agriculture opportunities

Swiss Marketing & Sales, Stein AG (1 month)

• Marketing and sales related projects to support the Swiss crop protection and seeds market
• Carrying out market analyses in terms of customer, products, prices, sales numbers, and competition
• Support the marketing communication creating content and support event preparation
• Assistance in the preparation, establishment, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of crop protection field trials

• Highly motivated MSc/BSc students in Agricultural Sciences, Biology, or related fields (ETH / HAFL, University level / University of applied sciences)
• Strong interest in agronomic fields (agricultural practices, plant pathology, entomology, or data analysis)
• A scientific mindset and open to explore new and innovative areas 
• Open mindset, strong teamwork and communication skills, willingness, and agility to learn new tasks
• Good German (written and spoken) and English language skills (written and spoken). Any other language is a plus.
