  • Contribute to implementation of global strategies and biological development plans in support of the company sustainability commitments to deliver competitive, sustainable solutions in support of active ingredient development. This includes providing in -depth level scientific expertise in soil health, microbiome/plant interactions and biology within the business streams, working closely with regions, key countries and global functions.  Where needed, this would also include customers, external collaborators and influencers.
  • As a key member of the AgroEcosystem Technology Platform team to lead global projects focusing on a holistic, systems-based approach to biodiversity preservation, farm resilience and agricultural sustainability at a global level, providing technical leadership with a special focus on soil health and biology across functions and regions.
  • Provide technical insights on forward thinking trends and new technologies to strengthen Syngenta’s competitive position in soil health, regenerative agriculture and sustainability. This includes scouting and evaluation of tools and technologies for sustainability and soil health assessments and leading their implementation in country.
  • Continually drive for technical excellence in sustainable agriculture initiatives, seeking improvements and providing technical expertise and thought leadership to key stakeholders across regions.
  • Build and support capability building in soil biodiversity and soil science; regenerative agriculture principles and sustainable agriculture and maintain good networks with Technical Experts in the regions and key countries. Foster technical networking, by actively seeking contact with technical experts, customers, and key influencers to develop and support solutions in sustainable and regenerative agriculture.
  • Translate project data into compelling messages that appeal to customers, key stakeholders, and influencers, actively looking for new approaches to enhance or reposition a product or sustainability concept’s value proposition
  • Serve as primary contact for sustainability assessments/studies in new AI development and participate in global cross functional teams where relevant/required.

Qualifications

  • Agricultural Science or Biology University, Master’s degree or above, with a focus on soil microbiology; ecology/soil science; landscape and environmental science
  • Excellent knowledge of agronomy (farmer practices) and agricultural sciences (e.g., relevant technical experience).
  • Knowledge of technical profiles, properties and positioning of Syngenta and competitor products and associated technologies would be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Disease / Insect / Weed / Control technologies.
  • Basic understanding of commercial and business concepts.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and advanced English level spoken and written.
  • Track-record of delivery of research projects at university or in a private Company (graduation or post-graduation work or internships).
  • Focused on customers and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
