Role purpose
Responsible for the analysis of complex datasets related to product and product lifecycle data, understanding and leveraging the appropriate technologies to ensure data can be exploited across the organization.
Plans, executes and assures the quality of data migration between diverse systems, databases, and platforms within our complex, mixed data environment to ensure data integrity and appropriate accessibility across the organization.
Accountabilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive data migration strategies, in the context of Syngenta data strategy and landscape
- Analyze source and target systems using queries, models and visualization tools to identify data mapping requirements
- Design and execute ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, ensuring data quality and consistency throughout the migration process and troubleshooting as required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business decision-makers / experts to align migration efforts and approaches
- Ensure compliance of methodologies with policies, data security standards and external best practices
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in data quality, process automation, efficiency and value exploitation of product data
- Contribute product / material data domain expertise within the Production & Supply data mesh to ensure data sources / data products are appropriate and deliver expected value.
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or relevant/adjacent field
- Solid understanding of functional systems and data management / data migration techniques and technologies
- Literate in Data and Analytics, understand how to structure and analyze data
- Fluent in English, other languages are an advantage
- Chemical, regulatory or production data knowledge is an advantage
Experience
- 5 years or more in data management / data migration role(s)
- Functional experience in the use of systems
- Working in internal client-facing roles
- Working in a multi-cultural and complex matrix organization
- Project management experience is an advantage
- Experience working with systems such as MDM/MDG, PLM an advantage
Required technical, professional and personal capabilities
- Analytical thinker, effectively breaks down complex problems into simple steps
- Translate business language into process and system functional concepts
- Team player with effective communication skills
- Influencing skills - develops relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to work across networks and flexible mindset to work on diverse teams

Qualifications
- University Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in software engineering, Information technology or comparable is essential
- 5-8 years or more in data management / data migration role.
- Experience in client-facing & multi-cultural and complex matrix organization
- Project management experience is an advantage
