Warehouse Supervisor

Role Purpose

• Supervise, direct, manage and train the warehouse team while overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations
• Develop and recommend policies and procedures in support of any improvement initiative
• Maintain a safe working environment by establishing and enforcing strict safety standards and procedures that comply with Syngenta’s HSE safety standards and guidelines

Accountabilities

• Ensure QHSE policy and objectives are understood, implemented and updated.
• Develop and update SOPs as part of continuous improvement of the warehouse functions.
• Develop technicians’ key performance indicators and track individual performance quarterly.
• Manage and monitor employee attendance, medical leaves, overtime, shift working hours, review with the P&L manager
• Identify training needs for warehouse technician and self (warehouse, safety, quality)
• Team management such as employee’s development, one-to-one coaching, counselling, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action
• Review and identify labour needs based on daily, weekly, and monthly for day and night shift hours.
• Walkthrough of warehouses daily and look into warehouse space management
• Involve in Tier 1 and 2 daily meetings
• Manage daily workflow prioritization and deliverables  
• Delivery management - track outbound finished goods cut-off date for shipping.
• Raw material availability and buffer
• Plan filling needs for drums and IBC
• Track and document packaging (drums, IBC, pallets, shrinkwrap etc) inventories stock-outs and propose re-order
• Manage and measure 3rd party logistics performance
• Ensure area 5S housekeeping weekly, adhere to SOPs and QHSE requirement
• Meet and exceed safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Understanding of Batch Management, FEFO, COA and work processes.
• Involve in Inventory management
• Back up as Asset Planner and Vendor Scheduler when required
• Ensure timely and efficient response to fulfil the request made by other functional departments in particular Quality and Production (for example: transferring of raw materials to the production team)
• Communicate and collaborate promptly and effectively between different functional departments (Tuas production, Tuas quality, third-party logistics and SG logistics).
• Handle escalations and implement corrective action
• Manage equipment and machinery maintenance.
• Identify process improvements and implement changes when required

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

• Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent qualification
• Strong experience in leading and training a warehouse team
• Good working knowledge of freight management, warehouse operations and 3rd party logistics operations
• Understand how to run a safe, efficient warehouse operation.
• Experience in ISO certification, audit, and documentation, developing work instructions and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Familiar with MS office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and SAP
• Candidates with a Forklift License will have an added advantage
• A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
