TE Operations lead role to execute the regulated field trialing in NA and seed production for LATAM and NA studies for both corn and soybean crops.

  • Deliver high quality data to support next generation biotech traits by planning and implementing an excellent field trialing experiments for transgene constructs and events selection.
  • Collaborate with TE study directors and support project milestones and deliverables by ensuring timely and fit for purpose data delivery.
  • Develop a long-term regulated seed production strategy to ensure a consistent quality and reliable seed supply.
  • Main contact for trialing and operations to enable optimal planting and harvest of trialing and nurseries activities.
  • Lead a small team of researchers/scientists within TE to help organize and implement field trials and seed production activities.

Accountabilities

  • Outlining the process of capturing the regulated corn and soybean nursery and field trialing demand and activities in NA.
  • Coordinate with TE study directors to develop resource demands and communicate to proper areas during planning cycles and budgeting processes.
  • Writes all NA agronomic performance, expression and efficacy trials to generate data to access whether events meet technical criteria, under global standards GM trialing requirements.
  • Main point of contact for trialing and operations to execute on all trials for seed production and agronomic evaluation.
  • Working with trialing and operations- ensure data capture and storage requirements are met for all trials.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of data to TE study directors for project advancement.
  • Implement and manage regulated seed production activities for corn and soybean in continuous nurseries and NA.
  • Lead TE activities for PS seed production activities.
  • Collaborate with TE/TA team members to deliver detailed experimental protocols for trialing and operations.
  • Manage CRO TE network for corn and soybean.
  • Ensure adherence to SyngentaCode of Conduct, QMS, Stewardship, regulatory and legal requirements are met
  • Develop clear performance metrics for trailing and seed productions.
  • Lead session for protocol delivery to trailing before the beginning of the season; followed with feedback session on location quality in the end of the season.
  • Maintain a network for internal stakeholders, locally and globally, that can support the trait evaluation needs.
  • Travel up to 20-25% particularly during peak periods of trialing.
  • Capability to self-motivate, solve problems, and make decisions regarding time, prioritization, and experiment management.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • PhD degree or Master’s degree with minimum of 5 year’s experience or Bachelor’s with minimum 10 year’s experience in plant breeding, Agronomy or related field.
  • Experience in design and management of high-quality agricultural research trials, seed production and field-based techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and management of field experience working with regulated transgenic trials in varietal crops and/or hybrid is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated exceptional proficiency in data management and organizational skill.
