Job description

Based in our  Syngenta Manchester location, we have an exciting opportunity for a Toll Production Manager to join our Toll/3rd Party Manufacturing team. Across Europe  Syngenta works with multiple 3rd party manufacturers across more than 15 manufacturing sites. In this role, you would work closely with  many supply chain functions such as planning, logistics and procurement in additional to technical and quality teams across Europe, leading 3rd Party manufacturing at specific Toll partners in the Europe region with a particular focus on compliance, quality and production. This is a diverse role within the scope of 3rd party manufacturing (tolling), and the main purpose of this role is to minimize Syngenta supply risk. Other accountabilities include (but are not limited to);

  • Acting as a key representative of Syngenta and an intermediary with 3rd Party Manufacturers, addressing any operational issues that arise with Tollers.
  • HSES Audits & ensuring full compliance of tollers with Syngenta's HSES and quality requirements and with regulatory, contractual, and financial frameworks.
  • Maintaining a tolling supply base delivering production flexibility and reliability at a competitive total cost, while collaborating with different Syngenta functions on tolling and toller related topics, acting as a single key point of contact at a managerial level.
  • Supporting the regional and global manufacturing strategy, business priorities and budget targets.
  • Investigation of complaints and ensuring resolution through the appropriate interfaces
  • Measuring toller performance and driving continuous improvement where appropriate
  • Leading/participating in selected projects, including product introductions, issue resolution

Requisite skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Proven professional experience in a supply chain, procurement, or technical role
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of formulation, fill & pack technology, and processes
  • Good grasp of 3rd party relationship management
  • Good knowledge of HSE, Quality and Regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Self-starter/autonomous & results-oriented
  • Experience of the Chemicals industry is preferred; other relevant industries include Pharma & Food production
  • Additional European language is advantageous

Based in Didsbury, near Manchester, our Global Operations Centre is a local hub for worldwide operations, ensuring growers, globally, have access to the right product at the right time. You will find a dynamic and agile working environment, with a diverse and inclusive culture.  This is a hybrid working role, with 2-3 days per week spent in the Office.
