As Team Leader Chemical Packaging Laboratory, you are leading and managing your team of laboratory technicians being responsible for their growth and development. In combination to this you will create and deliver added value towards internal and external customers as well develop end-to-end supply mindset rooted in customer centricity. You will be part of a collaborative chemical packaging laboratory team who awaits you as a motivated team leader.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage the team of laboratory technicians, steer the personal development of the team members
  • Guide laboratory technicians for testing packaging – technical/ physical and chemical testing (compatibility) for compliance to Crop Protection products.
  • Provide expertise in regard to chemical and physical testing within packaging development and packaging relevant activities during product development process and ensure all packaging related milestones are completed on time as well challenge the way of working towards agility
  • Responsible for GLP-compliant testing for product chemistry formulation studies
  • Expert for chemical compatibility and dangerous goods testing
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of our industry and regulations impacting Syngenta and deliver new opportunities to overcome related challenges.
  • Advises and supports team members in identifying and delivering savings and efficiency opportunities.
  • Capable of identifying and delivering new technologies and innovations.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice as Chemical Laborant with professional experience or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience in chemistry or equivalent industry
  • Previous experience being a Team Leader 
  • Ideally has previous experience in packaging industry (types, processes, methods)
  • Ideally has previous experience in coaching / mentoring other laboratory technicians, packaging engineers or technicians
  • Support a team culture and environment where everyone is able to bring in ideas as well speaking on the same level – culture of empowerment
  • Flexible and adaptable in outlook and approach, with ability to multi-task on concurrent projects
  • Likes to work in an international enviroment
  • Fluency in English and German are mandatory
