Purpose: 

  • Act as supply operations specialist for Biologicals, working closely with the Global Biologicals & Regional Biological teams in implementing and smoothly executing Biologicals flows.
  • Support global Biological projects and contracts, leading the implementation of new product introductions (operational set-up, system requirements), connecting with the relevant functions (planning, logistics, regulatory, procurement etc.), regional/local teams and third parties.
  • Manage internal forecast for the global Biologicals portfolio, consolidating the (regional/ county) inputs and ensuring timely delivery of the forecast (demand) to Valagro and third party suppliers according to contractual terms.
  • Prepare and run operations review meetings with Valagro and key third party suppliers ensuring relevant stakeholders are involved, business parameters are monitored and operational escalations & trade-offs are properly evaluated and addressed / escalated.
  • Establish and execute a yearly calendar of key activities with relevant stakeholders to enable smooth continuation of business year on year (budget cycle)

Accountabilities:

  • Act as supply operations specialist for Biologicals, for the implementation of NPI and the cross selling opportunities in Syngenta group, onboarding relevant functions, coordinating inputs for the operational setup and driving resolution of operational issues.
  • Own and execute the annual planning calendar for the global Biological portfolio, ensuring that forecasting and supply processes are established, in accordance to internal planning standards and aligned with contractual terms.
  • Create and maintain (in SAP) balanced supply-demand plans for the operational 0 to 24 months horizon. Anticipate supply constraints, develop alternative supply options, and drive proactive cross-functional and cross-geography communication and collaboration to achieve the right balance between inventory and customer service levels.
  • Prepare and run regular (weekly, monthly) operations review meetings with Valagro & 3rd party suppliers whilst managing linkage with regional and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and effective operational issue resolution.
  • Provide inputs/updates/escalations to support key stages of the Biologicals S&OP process. and support running the S&OP meeting as appropriate.
  • Set and monitor supply chain KPI’s, to ensure balanced performance, setting the change agenda for the supply chain and actively challenging ways of working, developing and implementing improvements.
  • Create and maintain supply chain maps, drive or support periodic supply flow reviews / optimizations and master data review / housekeeping.
  • Act as an SME for assigned processes, develop key process documentation and train regional and cross-functional teams to ensure sustainable operations.
  • Ensure, in area of responsibility, Syngenta's full compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework as well as Syngenta's own legal and ethical, HSE, corporate security, risk management and corporate governance standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous role in demand, supply planning or logistics,
  • Experience in NPI activities,
  • Experience at country or regional level, in different supply chain functions, is desirable,
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills – collaborating across regions/cultures/companies,
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain tools and processes, mainly planning (SAP, APO, EDWH),
  • Experience managing forecast, demand to third parties, supply planning or logistics processes,
  • Good understanding of sales & operations planning process, hubbing and logistics is desirable,
  • Previous experience with new technologies would be an advantage,
  • Supplier or Customer facing experience would be an advantage,
  • Project / Change management and OPEX mindset experience would be an advantage,
  • Proficient in English, other languages are beneficial.
