As part of our activities in France, we are looking for:

Station Manager Deputy - R&D Cereals (M/W)

Role purpose:

You lead Seeds R&D Operations at Chartres site, for the Purity and Nurseries and Seed production team (Wheat and Barley - hybrid and conventional).

You ensure effective operation to deliver all operations around seed preparation and processing, seed planting, in season assessments and harvest.

The job is offered on a permanent contract, based in France/Chartres (28).

Frequent business travel expected around the station (~30km from Chartres) and occasional in France/Europe.

Start date: as soon as possible.

Accountabilities:

You ensure implementation and execution of defined operation activities to be managed by the Chartres site.

Including the line management of the Operations team at Chartres.

You align the resources and the function, according to strategic priorities (daily, monthly, and annual).

You lead recruitment of Temporary staff for Operations.

Close collaboration and reporting with the Station Manager to deliver activities within budget allocated and manage the CAPEX plan.

Lead weekly meetings with Operations teams, Breeders and Product Placement Scientist (PPS) to align the activities in terms of timing, volumes, capacity. And anticipate the future testing and field’s needs.

As the Lead, you ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operations are met and reporting at station and EAME level. 

Actively contribute to the Experts network in Seeds production & Nursery in EAME.

You ensure exchanges across sites and crops, in France and in EAME.

And performing all tasks and behaving in a manner compliant with and in support of all health and safety related company policies and practices, including completing all required company training courses.

As the Lead, you ensure all tasks aligned with Quality Management documentation (Operational Processes, Work Instructions and Life Cycle Procedures). Review documentation and identify areas for improvement.

You act as trainer and supervisor for technicians and seasonal workers involved in Operations activity, ensuring training plans are documented, that work is carried out with competency and in line with work instructions and all agreed HSE guidelines and requirements.

Encourage active participation of the team in communication with other functions and contribute site events.


Qualifications

Engineer or master’s degree, in Agronomy Production, you have 5 to 10 years’ experience on a same role, in an International Seeds company.

Functional knowledges of seeds/Cereals (production, multiplication), plant operations and continuous improvment project linked.

Experience in team management & working with cross-functional teams in an international context.

Continious improvment/CAPEX project management experience.

Result oriented and customer focused.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

IT Tools: Pack Office, Qliksense, Power BI - production management software.

Fluent in English & French mandatory, to involve in a multicultural environment.

Sites not accessible by public transport.
