Sr. Manager A2R (Entity Lead)

Role Purpose-

• Deliver finance operations activities in line with Global Syngenta Standards (GSM), Finance Target Operating Model (TOM), other applicable corporate policies and procedures.
• Responsible for preparation of Ledger Accounting, Statutory Accounting and Reporting and Tax Reporting, preparation legal entity books with relevant Frontline Finance Manager.
• Supports in maintaining effective relationship with Finance Frontline Organization
• In conjunction with the relevant compliance manager ensure effective and sustainable implementation of Internal Control Frameworks (ICF) and segregation of duty (SoD) risk management frameworks.
• Knowledge of Syngenta Financial Reporting requirements, Financial Frameworks, and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Hand-on knowledge of Finance GSM processes.
• Good working knowledge of IFRS.
• Good understanding of local statutory, tax, and statistical reporting requirements.

Accountabilities

• Responsibility of preparing all group reporting, local statutory and tax reporting. Assuring correctness, timely submission, and proper substantiation of financial reporting submissions in line with the Syngenta Financial Reporting requirements, local statutory reporting regulations, and local tax requirements.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all business transactions in ERP system according to the IFRS rules for group reporting and local GAAP rules for statutory reporting (local ERP only) 
• Ensure local statutory and tax books are complete and accurate on a real time basis and are available for frontline sign-off and submission to appropriate authorities on time and according the valid standards.
• Facilitate effective dialogue with Finance Frontline organization to verify the correctness of the accounts and provide appropriate substantiation to the Frontline Finance Manager for approval of relevant accounts.
• Sustain high standards on verification of assets and liabilities in the balance sheet.
• Support effective and sustainable implementation of Internal Control Frameworks (ICF) and segregation of duty (SoD) risk management frameworks.
• Support a high level of financial compliance capability in the team and promote compliance culture through training and other relevant initiatives.
• Support internal /external audits, and drive sustainable and timely remediation of outstanding audit issues in close corporation conjunction with the Finance Frontline
• Supporting global project (S4 implementation related experience will be an added advantage)
• Lead and participate in implementation of SAP S4 Hana, collaborating with cross functional team and external partners to understand the business requirement.
• Managing a team of experienced professionals to ensure business delivery (This includes all the admin related responsibilities

Experience required for the job:

• Sound economics, finance, or accounting background
• 10-12 years’ relevant experience in a management role
• Experience with multinational companies
• Process improvement / project management experience
• Track record of compliance culture maintenance and enforcement
• Experience within a complex matrix organization is a plus.
• Good understanding of business end-to-end processes and internal controls necessary to safeguard the Company’s assets.
• Knowledge of Syngenta Financial Reporting requirements, Financial Frameworks, and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Strong understanding of key financial concepts, theoretical background in finance and accounting
• Ability to effectively function in a complex multi-dimensional matrix organization.
• Strong and effective communication in relation to key stakeholders, including senior managers at the country, region and global levels.
• Ability to develop, agree and maintain compliant and fit-for-purpose operational procedures and processes.
• Fluent in English
• Bachelor/Master/MBA in Economics or Finance
• Holds professional Finance qualification i.e. CA, ICWA or equivalent
