Role purpose:

As a Seeds Production Research (SPR) Seeds applied solution Lead EAME at Syngenta, your main responsibility is to drive excellence in seeds applied solution technology productivity, quality, and safety in Seeds Operations EAME.

You manage a portfolio of relevant projects, working closely with local seed sites and activating regional technology scouting to enable the satisfaction of Syngenta customers.

Your scope of work cover EAME Seeds Operations and Parent Seeds, EAME Seeds Treatment of fields crops at Syngenta and Toller plants (excluding vegetables).

The position is offered on a permanent contract, based in France/Saint Sauveur (31) or Nérac (47), or Hungary/Mezotur.

Occasional international business travel required (~20% per year, sites visit, workshop….).

Starting date: June 2023.

Accountabilities:

As a Seeds Applied Solutions Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

-Project management: You will develop, prioritize, and manage relevant projects in line with Seeds Operations EAME strategy. You will also drive the strategy, collaborate with the Global Innovation team, and activate regional technology scouting.

-New Seed applied solution introduction process: you will manage the introduction process of new seeds applied solutions, challenging seeds treatment portfolios in cooperation with the Supply Chain and Portfolio teams and partnering with the Seed Care Institute in recipe development and application. You will also relaunch, coordinate, and train Seed Treatment Network of sites and tollers in all crops, ensuring gate process, timeline & E2E delivery aligned with supply EAME lead. Additionally, you will proactively work on overall technical governance and benchmark external suppliers and options for new treatments.

-Lead seed applied solution technical portfolio: you will ensure seed treatment quality and quantity management in cost and time. You will also ensure Freedom to Operate (FTO) screening and anticipate seed treatment ban, providing alternative business scenarios working with supply chain and externals. You will adjust recipes based on changes, new challenges, or FTO changes.

-Seed applied solution landscape and FTO: you will coordinate, collect, and aggregate information on the seed applied solution landscape and FTO within EAME, validate assumptions with EAME experts, and animate a core team with SME experts on seed treatment across EAME, including parent seed.

-Business improvement: you will collaborate with production sites and regional stakeholders to lead and support continuous improvement initiatives adjacent or overlapping with seed applied solutions, using BI tools (e.g., 5S, VSM, A3 solving, …). You will also support the investigation of technology-related customer complaints and non-conformities, collaborating with the BI group to valorise it on seed sites.

-Regional operating procedures: you will provide expertise to standardize ways of working across EAME, create seed and seed applied solution related regional level operating procedures in cooperation with Syngenta sites and tollers, Process Experts, and Quality Management. You will also support tollers auditing/evaluation and improvement, working with Seed ops Leads.

-Collaboration across regions and departments: you will be the key regional contact point on seed treatment, collaborating with other seed treatment experts, process engineers, production teams in other regions (NA, LATAM, APAC, China), and department (portfolio, planning, Seed care) in benchmarking, development, and implementation of innovative solutions. You will also connect between experts for problem-solving regarding technical advice.

 


Qualifications

Master's/Engineer’s degree Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering with relevant work experience (5 to 10 years).

Strong knowledge & understanding of seed conditioning treatment in corn, sunflower, cereals, Wosr.

Good understanding of seed quality and factors that affect quality.

Freedom to Operate /FTO and business knowledge at EAME level.

Process improvement methods, data science, MS office pack, JMP or similar.

You are a real facilitator, you are a good communicant, organised and rigorous.

Professional English required to work in our multicultural organisation (meetings, emails, documents).
