We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Syngenta Tech team. As a Mid-level Software Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the development of software solutions for our agriculture technology products. This position involves collaborating with product managers, designing scalable architectures, and providing mentorship to junior engineers. If you have a passion for innovation and a strong background in Java Full stack, Python, JavaScript frameworks, Cloud Technologies and DevSecOps, we invite you to be a part of our dynamic work environment.

In this role, you will work directly with teams to design and implement cutting edge software solutions that supports the business. You will be responsible for developing software, defining tech stack & operational strategies. You will provide technical expertise, implement software engineering initiatives and build end-to-end engineering solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective. You will work with a wide range of technologies (e.g. Java, Python, AWS, GCP etc) and stay abreast of emerging technologies, investigating and implementing where appropriate. You will be responsible for developing the software architecture components that scales for the ever-evolving customer needs.

Accountabilities:

  • Ownership of the development of software solutions for technology products.
  • Collaborate with product managers to gather and refine requirements.
  • Design and implement scalable and maintainable software architectures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of progressive development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Proven experience in full-stack development.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript frameworks, Cloud technologies and DevSecOps.
  • Experience with database design and optimization. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement RESTful APIs. required
  • Experience in Machine Learning Algorithms, practices and implementation.
  • Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.  required
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
