Reporting to the Head of Seed Development Operations Europe, you will lead the Toulouse Innovation Center Site, the most important cross functional Site in Region Europe, and the headquarter of Syngenta France SA.

The position is offered on a permanent contract, based in France/Saint Sauveur (31).

Starting date: 01/10/2024

Accountabilities

The 12ha facility hosts Research, Development and Commercial functions and is a pivotal lever for the success of our breeding programs to deliver best in class products to our customers.
The site hosts a total of 350 employees, and includes a high-level technology glasshouse, one of the Global Genotyping and various Syngenta Research & Development, Supply, Commercial and Support teams.

The Site Manager will be a role as coordinator sites in France for topics related to HSE (Health Safety Environment) and people, particularly around local regulations, and decisions. Within the role you have a dotted line to the President and Managing Director of Syngenta France or their Deputy Director.

Also, the Site Manager has a responsibility in Labor relations as he/she acts and represents Syngenta management as the Chair (President) of the Southern Site Works Council (CSE).

The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to translate strategic vision into tactical action and synthetize complex issues into actionable solutions and a strong safety culture:

  • Lead the site in an effective and impactful way through the cross functional Site Leadership Team (SLT) that includes a representative from all key management roles or supporting functions on site, including Facilities Management.
  • Manage and drive the Site Leadership Team with regular reviews of the common set of cross functional KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and targets and record them by using a formal process visualizing indicators about site performance with defined plan for the eventual future improvement steps.
  • Drive step changes for creating the culture shift on site by fostering and enabling innovations and collaboration; enabling all critical legal, compliance and safety & security standards.
  • Creating an inclusive working environment and enabling all site team members accountable for having the highest standards and principles of great place to work with strong sense of belonging to the site independently of employee’s function or department.
  • Ensure the site is very attractive for employees to work in and show cases a very high-level image of the company externally and internally.
  • Securing proper site infrastructure investment in place and secure Business Continuity of activities on the site in link with Syngenta Facility Management (SFM) France.

Qualifications

Master's/Engineer’s degree in Engineering or HSE, with 10 years’ experience minimum in project management, including working within international companies.

An experience in seeds industry will be appreciated.

Proven Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, influence, build consensus and gain support.

Be result oriented, drive KPI’s to effectively achieve business results, and decision-making in the face of conflicting priorities and ambiguity.

Strong analytical mindset and Agile project management implementation, including planning, budget management and operational excellence.

Infrastructure and facility management projects management & HSE role modelling.

Professional English & French required to work in our multicultural organisation (meetings, emails, documents).

Site not accessible by transport.
