About Us

Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking a Senior Product Application Specialist in Greensboro, NC. As an Application Specialist, you will work effectively with laboratory development, production, supply chain groups, and growers both globally and in the NAFTA region to ensure that products meet customers’ requirements and can be successfully applied.

Accountabilities

  • Achieve seamless transfer of product development to market, effectively network with supply, packaging, sales forces, etc. and provide support as needed.

  • Technical liaison with the application equipment industry, external customers, and other Syngenta departments such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Regulatory, and Research and Development.

  • Develop or coordinate the development of improved equipment, precision application techniques, or additives to enhance performance and product sales.

  • Devise research techniques in lab and field settings to evaluate and improve the handling and application of Syngenta products.

  • Provide product stewardship support for existing Syngenta products, address quality issues, and strive for innovative solutions for sustained competitive advantage.

  • Identify cost, performance, and presentation opportunities to enhance demand for existing products by customers, identify ways to differentiate Syngenta products and/or service offerings, and promote their development.

  • Assure that development products support the strategic vision for the formulation function in NAFTA and Global/Regional Business Interfaces.

  • Familiarity with the evolution of technology in the agricultural industry, especially around automation, data science, digital, and precision agriculture.

  • Assure Syngenta products are suitably robust for intended use in the desired markets by conducting rigorous application and supply chain testing programs.

  • Develop new testing and application methods to ensure customer satisfaction with Syngenta products under all conditions in the


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in an appropriate scientific discipline such as Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Applied Biology, Chemistry, or other Agricultural discipline.

  • A solid understanding of the scientific disciplines, Application Technology of agricultural products, Agricultural equipment and machinery, Agricultural Science and Engineering, Precision Agriculture, Agronomy or Formulation Technology.

  • Travel requirements – minimal, 10% (product support, field trials, training & conferences).

Preferred Requirements

  • Post-Graduate degree preferred (M.S or Ph.D.).

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving in a fast-moving environment.

  • Knowledge of biological and chemical/physical product performance criteria for products and suitable application techniques to optimize their performance
