We are recruiting for a motivated team member to join our Process Studies Group as a Senior Process Engineer. The Process Studies Group is a cross-functional research team made up of people from a broad range of expertise and technical backgrounds. The team work closely together to solve complex technical problems and deliver first class science to our research and manufacturing teams globally. We focus on collaboration and innovation and work flexibly to deliver as one team.

As part of the role as Senior Process Engineer, you will provide process engineering expertise to develop and improve processes for new and existing Syngenta products. You will work as part of a team to apply engineering fundamentals to understand the impact of scale-up and to outline and execute extensive experimental and modelling based studies. You will work closely with partners from across the business to communicate and translate your findings into practical knowledge and guidance for implementation.

The job will allow you to work as part of a collaborative and inclusive team with multiple opportunities to guide key activities and progress training to support your continued professional development.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with Chemical or Process Engineering as the main component
  • Minimum 2-year industrial experience in chemical process development
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural team with good communication and organisational skills, including the ability to adapt to change and manage work with a long-term vision

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

If you have any of the following characteristics that would be an advantage:

  • > 3 years’ experience in chemical process development, troubleshooting and/or mathematical modelling (e.g. Aspen or Ansys Fluent) or programming (e.g. MATLAB or Python)
  • IChemE Chartership or equivalent qualification
  • Line manager or mentoring experience (direct or as part of a project or matrix structure)
