The Cloud team is a pillar of the Syngenta IT organization responsible for designing, architecting, implementing, and supporting Multi Account Landing Zone and Multi Cloud Services. As a Senior Cloud Engineer you will be part of Cloud team architecting, designing, securing, and implementing Cloud native technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, secure, and implement AWS services within a multi-region multi-account landing zone landscape including China.
  • Perform daily monitoring and operations, verifying integrity and availability of cloud services and key processes.
  • Installation and configuration of monitoring and security software on EC2.
  • Implement cost saving strategies and techniques and work closely with application teams to maximize efficiency in cloud utilization.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation such runbooks, onboarding and support processes, development standards and best practices, and account inventory.
  • Design and implement AWS Solutions by utilizing various AWS services to meet business requirements.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Architect, design and implement CI/CD for the organization.
  • Re-architect applications from traditional server-based architecture to AWS docker container-based services and microservice architecture.
  • Develop reusable, efficient, and scalable python modules to automate manual tasks in AWS infrastructure
  • Collaborate with customers to examine and comprehend application architecture and designs, ensuring alignment with the existing enterprise architecture, share modernization standards and best practices, and implement serverless applications, as well as integrations with third-party products and services.
  • Ability to automate daily cloud operations tasks using Python boto3 module including but not limited to AWS IAM Keys rotation, backup of AWS resources, and notify users of AWS Guard Duty and Security Hub findings/vulnerabilities.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and addressing the root cause of issues related to AWS services, network connectivity, certificates, application-level challenges, and problems with third-party and SaaS platforms.
  • Work closely with Syngenta Cloud architects to secure and implement newly launched AWS services.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science or IT or relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Cloud Compute with hands-on Python/software development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with administering and securing AWS Cloud Native services.
  • Experience in deploying and securing infrastructure into AWS cloud platform and Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of API traffic management, authentication, authorization, monitoring, and version management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network relations issues across layers 3 through 7.
  • Ability to deliver high quality engineering practices and guidance across the SDLC.
  • Experience building observability KPIs and dashboards using enterprise monitoring tools such as Datadog.
  • Ability to write clean, secure, test driven, easily maintainable and modular code
  • Experience with AWS Services such as IAM, Cognito, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway, Event Bridge, EC2, EMR, S3, Guard duty, Security Hub, IoT*, Cert Manager, EKS, Fargate, Systems Manager, Application and Network Load Balancers, , Security Groups, NACL, WAF, Route Tables, Route 53, Transit Gateway, VPC, Firewalls, CloudFormation, CDK, SQS, SNS, SMS, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Kinesis, TimeStream, Neptune, and FsX.
  • Experience developing GraphQL and REST APIs and Microservice architecture.
  • Experience with deploying CI/CD, pipelines in Jenkins, GitLab CI, and AWS Code* services.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies using Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, and AWS CDK.
  • Experience with collaborative software development environment such as centralized source control, CI/CD and standard code reviews.
  • A High degree of self-motivation, self-learner, and the ability to adapt quickly to new tasks.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification mandatory. Engineers with Multiple AWS certifications are preferred.
