To support that challenge, the Seeds Research Technology Development team is currently seeking a Research & Development intern in Research Triangle Park, NC. Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. As an intern you will work as a member of the Technology Development team and shadow scientists while they conduct greenhouse and laboratory research with emphasis in testing new technologies to enable breeding and production within the company. You will also participate in data generation and summaries to evaluate new technologies and gene editing traits before deployment to seeds development.

Estimated Duration: May 2023 – August 2023  

You will: 

  • Assist in laboratory experiments to test new enabling technologies  
  • Complete reporting of data, reports, and summaries in a timely manner 
  • Work as part of a cohesive team to provide research solutions 

 


    Qualifications

    What you must have: 

    • Enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program at an accredited university in Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field 
    • Fluent in English 

    What you might also contribute to the team: 

    • Experience in greenhouse, laboratory, and/or field research techniques, experimental design, and statistical analysis 
    • Experience with basic molecular biology and/or tissue culture techniques 
    • Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities 
    • Excellent analytical and people skills 
    • Strong oral and written communication skills 
    • Critical leadership capabilities 
    • Communicative – we clearly convey information and ideas; we encourage open and continuous communication; we are keen to listen and learn
