As a Seeds R&D Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing finance expertise and advice to the businesses, supporting decision-making and driving performance. You will participate in the development and implementation of the relevant operational plans to ensure clarity of the financial impact, including support of evaluation of new businesses and models.

We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help:

  • Ensure seamless engagement and interaction with finance communities and stakeholders.
  • Lead financial processes across P&L scope connecting with various stakeholders:
    • Actuals: Take accountability of month end closing and correct monthly reporting of R&D spend,
    • Support the MBR process for the stations and activities in scope, including robust reporting and analysis of variances on YTD Actual spending,
    • Focus on reliable full year outlooks and risk/opportunity assessments,
    • Support in-season prioritization decision making processes.
  • Link between Function Costs and R&D portfolio:
    • Understand link between Function Costs, strategic portfolio directions and 5 Year Plan,
    • Support the annual process on “Feasibility Assessments”, aiming to translate changes in portfolio to realistic Function Costs estimates,
    • Support on unit cost calculation,
    • Support and follow up for Business improvement calculations.
  • Lead the annual budget preparation process. 
  • Manage Business cases for investments and change projects:
    • Support decision making processes through solid analyses,
    • Provide robust business cases for Capex projects, restructuring projects and other change projects,
    • Ensure tracking of business case delivery post implementation,
    • Active contributor in the relating cross-functional project teams.
  • Actively shape and improve the key business finance processes.

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • 5-8 years of experience in different areas of business finance and controlling
  • Wide knowledge of finance (financial analysis, investment analysis, valuation analysis, risk management, budgeting / planning)
  • Fluent English language knowledge (other language is a plus)
  • Experience in working with cross functional teams and ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Experience in influencing key stakeholders towards adopting and aligning to relevant procedures and tools
  • Strong influencing and teamwork skills
  • Project management skills
  • Successfully communicate ideas that proactively challenge business
  • Ability to prioritize, especially to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
