To support that challenge, Syngenta Italia is looking for a Seeds Production Agronomist in Bologna (BO).

He/She will be responsible for corn field production and growers follow up in Bologna growing area, from field planning to harvest (according to the country SPP and local split), delivering the right quantity and quality requested by Syngenta. He/She will be also involved in Soybean multiplication in East area (VE & FVG) from beginning (volume allocation and grower contract) to the end (harvest follow up and processing data)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Field Production Manager & Senior Agronomist during the growers’ contracting phases
  • Soybean seed production (growers support, harvesting follow up and third parties’ connections) in the dedicated areas
  • Corn growers’ management and production follow up in BO area including field allocation, tillage practices, planting, fertilization, irrigation, detasseling, chemical application and harvest
  • Seasonals field controller during corn flowering and detasseling operations
  • Applies the follow-up process of field production on regular base usage of a digital data collector for both crops
  • Interaction with R&D, Seed Production Research, Trial Seeds and Plant Processing or Toller
  • In compliance with HSES Syngenta’s requirements

Qualifications

Key factors are:

  • Basic Agronomics knowledge
  • Problem solving, teamwork
  • Ensure support and proactive approach
  • Carry out work in compliance with Legal and Syngenta standards on HSEQ
  • Ensure responsive and accurate communication flows with all functions
  • Establish excellent working relationships with key functions/stakeholders

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

  • Master’s degree/Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or equivalent experience
  • Excellent knowledge of excel & Microsoft Office
  • Project management skills
  • Fluent Italian and English level B2
  • Valid driving license is needed (B)

Residing in Bologna area or available to reallocate
