The Seeds Development Portfolio Manager supports strategy mid-to-long term definition and delivery for EAME crop pipelines. He/She works across all functions of the EAME Seeds Development organization and partners in aligning, implementing, achieving, and tracking approved strategies and goals for EAME crops. 

He/she ensures projects are designed, resourced, and prioritized to deliver innovation and business value and to achieve EAME Seeds strategic objectives. 

The job is offered on a permanent contract, based in France/Saint Sauveur (31) or Saint Barthelemy d ’Anjou (49). Start date: November 2023. 

This position requires business trips in France & Europe (frequency 5% ) 

Accountabilities:

Within the “Portfolio Planning and Projects” Team, main accountabilities will be to:

  • Partner with germplasm development, business, seeds research and production and supply to allow long term direction alignment between Seeds Development and anticipated technology and market transformations.
  •  Manage the Portfolio Definition Cycle with seeds stakeholders to collect, prioritize and support decision in annual resource allocation and budget process.
  • Organize portfolio and scenario analyses required to enable data driven decision making by Regional and Global leadership teams.
  • Identify and address interdependencies, opportunities, risks, and issues across multiple projects in regional portfolio.
  • Follow execution of portfolio decisions through to implementation and tracking with regional germplasm and operation teams.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional stakeholders, to align management of projects and initiatives in region with global portfolio management practices and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in Global Portfolio management tool development in Agile mode through user story definition, Minimum Viable Product testing and feedback to development team.
  • Ensure regular reporting on activities and alert direct manager on deviations on key projects monitoring KPIs

Qualifications

  • Engineer or Master graduate/business school or organisation/business management, with 5 years’ experience minimum on a similar position on project or portfolio management in Industrial sector.
  • Strong organization and communication skills, ability to work in autonomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially those required to successfully function as part of cross-functional, cross-cultural, multi-location teams.
  • Ability to translate data into strategic insights and consider major drivers to orient action.
  • Knowledge of the Agribusiness market and Agronomy bases (crop knowledge, soil knowledge, farming practices, machinery…) will be appreciated.
  • Experience in Pack Office and Data management, experience working with SmartSheet is a plus.
  • Fluent in English to evolve in a multicultural environment.French or German is a nice to have.
  • Driving Licence/ Permits (B) - sites not accessible by public transport.
