Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic scientist ready to make a significant impact in the world of vegetable seeds? This is your chance! Syngenta is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity to join our highly motivated Vegetable Seed Enhancement Team (VSET). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to lead well-defined projects aimed at improving the processes and performance of vegetable seeds, with a specific focus on developing new seed treatments.

The Challenge

As a scientist, you will play a crucial role within our team, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to support the global vegetable seeds business. You will independently lead projects, leveraging your strong knowledge of seed physiology and the seed business. Your responsibilities will include designing and conducting experiments, utilizing your scientific approach, project management skills, and effective communication. You will confidently apply statistical analysis and data interpretation to make timely, data-driven decisions aligned with project timelines. Additionally, you will actively participate in the technology transfer and implementation process at seed processing sites.

Qualifications

Your Profile

  • PhD degree preferably in plant science, or MSC with 5 years relevant experience.
  • Passion to work on the boundaries of plant biology/seed technology and operations.
  • Strong drive to deliver results and implement innovative technologies in an operational environment.
  • Demonstrated interest to find technical solutions for biological problems.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Strong team working and communication skills.
  • It would be a plus if you speak Dutch or if you have the drive to learn it on short term.
