Research Technician

• Provide administrative support to the site teams, including farm and equipment maintenance, summer intern training and fleet management
• Plant, maintain, and harvest trials for key crops in the area. This includes routine site/farm maintenance activities
• Act as a site ambassador for Syngenta’s safety culture, with specific focus on farm equipment
• Support Field Biology Development Program
• Mentor and teach others regarding research equipment used

• B.Sc in Agriculture, Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy or any relevant discipline in the agronomy field
• Minimum 2 years experience in field research of Seed and/or Crop Protection products
• Diploma holders in agriculture or horticulture with 6+ years of experience are encouraged to apply
• Previous experience in agricultural field research or strong agricultural background is a critical success factor
• Valid AR Driver’s License required or ability and willingness to achieve in a short time frame
• Ability to drive truck & trailer, required
• Must operate farm equipment; tractors, planters, combine, tillage implements 
• Must operate small power tools; mower, string trimmer, rototiller and similar equipment
• Drone license or willingness to get a drone license immediately
• Flexibility to work long hours as required
• Knowledge of WHIMIS and OHSA regulations and practices
