Role Purpose
Coordinate Corn Trait Introgression (TI) team operations with a focus on delivery of high quality conversions.  Timely completion of the conversion enablement processes including data entry, and delivery according to all relevant metrics, KPIs and specifications. Coordinate activities to optimize use of resources; drive continuous operational improvement. Communicate and work to resolve issues within broader operational team.
 


Qualifications

Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of Conversion Enablement 3rd party staff to top performance in all aspects of operations
  • Ensure best practice documentation and ensure timely process compliance with established protocols; contribute to creation of new protocols, process metrics and KPIs, including up to date data entry and management of company databases and Teamspace files
  • Collect, enter and track key data on process metrics and KPIs, e.g. expected vs actual throughput rates
  • Assist in daily project tracking, including identification, troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems, and implementation of OPEX methodology e.g. visual management boards and tiered meetings
  • Assist in supervising 3rd party staff activities day to day: pollination; transplanting; planting; sampling; extractions .  Ensuring effective and timely data collection/QC/entry, updating of SPIRIT trials and MINT
  • Maintain best practice in all operational areas, ensuring seamless track and trace and minimizing errors; coordinate activities with conversion managers and other coordinators to ensure smooth logistics
  • Perform all tasks in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety and stewardship related company policies and practices, including completing all required training courses; ensure 3rd party personnel do the same
  • Regular and timely ad hoc communication of any issues to the Conversion Enablement Team Lead
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with peers and supervisors regarding operational status of projects and work activities, and supply input needs
  • Support other Corn TI operational activities and tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED at least
  • Must have reliable Transportation
  • Must be able to work some Holidays and Weekends
  • Preferred Requirements
  • Ability to use MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel, and other standard software
  • Ability to effectively organize, manage and assign workload of multiple tasks
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with full-time personnel and 3rd party labor to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to lead and motivate others to high performance
  • Experience with plant sciences and/or greenhouse operations preferred
  • Experience with Trait Introgression preferred
  • Experience leading greenhouse operational teams preferred
