We are looking for a scientist with knowledge of insect and mammalian cell culture to work within Cell Biology in the Bioscience Group. Confident to work independently, you will provide high quality mammalian and insect cells for a range of customers to enable them to successfully deliver results. In this lab-based service role with significant (up to 70% of your time) routine cell culture work, you will ensure the maintenance and stocks of these cell lines. In addition, you will exercise problem-solving skills when issues arise with the cells and investigate, identify, and implement the best solutions.
Qualifications and skills
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- BSc degree (or equivalent) preferably in a Biological Science together with experience working in a scientific laboratory.
- Practical experience of mammalian and/or insect cell culture techniques is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to relate to a wide range of customers from different disciplines.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Ability to problem solve.
