Into action

As Regulatory Specialist you are responsible for the development of the regulatory dossier for the European Food Safety Authority. You will coordinate the responses to questions from the competent authorities and anticipate future trends. This happens in close contact with the Global and EU regulatory managers and the Product Safety team.  You will also play an important role in the advocacy of Syngenta‘s  Seed Traits and Technologies and will monitor new trends in plant breeding technologies.

The challenge

Lead and provide regulatory advice for the development and implementation of the global regulatory strategy into Europe to support the license to operate for Syngenta’s regulated seed products.

Your accountabilities

  • Plan, execute and monitor regulatory submissions according to project plans. 
  • Participate in the Regulatory project sub-teams responsible for developing a product application, providing detailed input on the local requirements and advising on the regulatory strategy for the project plan. 
  • Manage the regulatory agency review process and liaise with competent authorities to obtain product permit approvals in the defined timelines. 
  • Work with other country regulatory or registration specialists ensuring the goal’s achievement 
  • Assure applications and submission processes meet internal Syngenta and country regulatory standards, where applicable, or are otherwise fit for purpose. 
  • Interpret local safety and market authorization requirements and provide regulatory positions to support project and business needs. 
  • Play a proactive role in identifying risks or issues to Syngenta projects or products and contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of robust risk / issue management plans. 
  • Participate in industry association efforts advocating Syngenta positions as needed. 
  • Continue to develop and maintain expertise in your area through participation in seminars, workshops, training courses and professional associations to maximize your contribution and impact to Syngenta. 
  • Take steps necessary to establish yourself externally as a credible and recognized regulatory expert (via presenting, networking) to enable participation in industry-wide task forces and work groups. 
  • Collaborate with regional and country functions to create an environment that is supportive of agricultural tools like modern breeding.

 


Qualifications

  • High academic background in related scientific fields (minimum MSc- desirable PhD)
  • Valued work experience with regulated products, through prior position in industry, academia, or government institution 
  • Experience of working with Food, Feed chain stakeholders is desired
