Regional Demand & Supply Planner APAC Flowers

Job description

Purpose:

  • APAC Supply Chain Efficiency: Closely work together with the regional customer service, order management  and global supply chain teams to measure APAC supply chain performance and streamline operations processes to ensure timely fulfillment of sales orders and minimize lead times.
  • Setting up the business for future growth: Closely work with the Head of Operations APAC and Global Flowers supply chain team to establish a local supply chain and other initiatives to better serve the Syngenta Flowers’ APAC customers in the future.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for creating APAC demand plans together with sales, marketing & operations, as well as ensuring maintenance of demand plans in SAP.
  • Be the main point of contact for customer service & order management to manage availability for open orders in line with available stock, forecast and country access requirements to maximize our ability to fulfill customerorders on time and in full, while keeping our future inventory cover into account.
  • Manage the APAC seed inventory levels (virtual warehouse (NL) & future local warehouse) and ensure available supply vs forecast/open orders by closely working together with the team of Global & Regional Supply Planners (Stock transfers to right plants / storage locations, Confirmed Sales Forecast vs Confirmed Sales Plan, Processing allocations across APAC territories, prepacked stock levels etc.)
  • Contribute to the APAC Sales & Operations (S&OP) platform to ensure alignment between APAC teams as well as the roll up to the global supply chain to manage risks and opportunities (R&O) against budget and forecast.
  • Pro-actively promote available stock to APAC sales team and challenge them to push sales into the market to manage global inventory positions. Also keep a close eye on active allocations and work with the product managers to mitigate the risks they give to our business.
  • Analyze sales vs demand to improve our forecast accuracy to enhance our ability to supply the growing markets in APAC taking country access restrictions into account. · Leading various projects & growth initiatives within the supply chain to further build the ability of the Flowers Organization to efficiently supply the APAC Market. (Local seed hub set up, participate in country access initiatives etc.)

Business Impact: 

  • Supply & inventory strategy development for future business growth by exploring options to increase revenue, meet budget and keep healthy inventory positions with the global supply chain teams.
  • Demand plan generation as basis for global production plan creation required to maximize sales and minimize inventory.
  • Improve customer satisfaction with improved ability to supply Flowers seeds into the market.

Geographic Scope:

  • APAC (+ China) focus, with close connection to Global Seed Operations team in Netherlands and USA

Complexity:

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, -regionally and -culture makes this a complex job with a lot of stakeholder management
  • Managing differing regulations within the APAC developing markets and balancing the supply with the right Country of Origin supply and Country Requirements (phytosanitary regulations) to manage country access.
  • Due to main operations team based in the Netherlands, this job requires a lot of autonomy and proactive work attitude.

Qualifications

Experience required for the job*

  • Strong knowledge of Supply & Demand Planning Processes & Methodology (experience in supply planning a plus)
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management and design
  • Experience in a similar industry is a plus
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work in cross-functional teams, strong organization skills
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent a plus
  • Fluency in English language required
