Accountabilities

  • Provide category management support (mainly Facilities and Engineering) with a focus on requirements across the North American region
  • Provide continuous, timely and robust support to allow for manufacturing and business continuity
  • Continually seek, identify and be accountable for potential total cost of ownership savings opportunities while ensuring a balance of savings, quality and timely delivery of goods and services
  • Utilize appropriate tools (RFP’s, eAuctions, etc) to drive value for Syngenta
  • Work closely with key business stakeholders to ensure that requirements are clearly understood and appropriately challenged, and be aware of the function’s challenges, opportunities, and priorities
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with the various business stakeholders to ensure that Indirect Procurement delivers savings to the P/L on a consistent and sustainable basis
  • Act as an ambassador of Procurement and be the champion in the function for all Procurement policies, processes and tools to ensure compliance
  • Develop, validate, implement and drive sustainable category and sub-category strategies with alignment to business requirements for the NA Region, in conjunction with the Global Category Network
  • Be the face of Indirect Procurement to Syngenta stakeholders and ensure they are aware of and support Procurement policies and processes.

This position will be located in either our Greensboro, NC or RTP, NC location on a hybrid work schedule.  Remote in the US will be considered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Technical or Business field
  • Minimum of 2 years Procurement experience
  • Good understanding of Category Management approaches and techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Procurement policies and procedures
  • Experience in procuring goods and services with the ability to understand the total cost of ownership to generate cost savings

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA and/or CPSM/CPM desired but not required
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
