Job description

We are currently seeking a Regional Capital and Project Manager for the North America Seeds Development team Slater, IA. This role may also be based at our Malta IL or Stanton MN site.   

Role Purpose

The Regional Capital and Project Manager will be accountable for managing and executing critical capital and transformation initiatives that support the company's strategic investments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in program or project management, change management, and the ability to drive transformation across various business units. This role requires a dynamic leader who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver results on time and within budget.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and partner with the North America (NA) Seeds Development portfolio team on the development of the regional long-term capital investment plans and annualized budgets in coordination with the Global Capital Team.
  • Support the NA Seeds Development Leadership Team in defining strategic transformation program initiatives (including Canberra) to drive pipeline execution and portfolio evolution.
  • Develop program teams accountable for scoping and delivering projects within the defined goals of the transformation program.
  • Identify program interdependencies and work with program teams to detect risk and build contingencies.
  • Lead team of North America direct reports and supporting program leads in evaluating and monitoring overall programs and project performance in alignment with anticipated timelines and annual budgets.
  • Own regional CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) in support of field, lab, processing, and internalized facility equipment to ensure proper tracking and protection of Syngenta assets.
  • Lead best practices creation and sharing across areas of responsibility to drive awareness and improvements.
  • Serve as the single Point of Truth on program initiatives and underlying capital projects in region.
  • Proactively and effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders on regional plans including any deviations and corresponding corrective actions.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in business, agronomy or plant breeding is a plus.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a transformation or change management role.
  • Strong familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and/or change management.
  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes.
  • Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and professionally written communications and presentations.
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective.
  • Interpersonal skills to negotiate and team-build.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
