About Us

At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. To support this challenge, we are currently seeking an R&D Specialist in Greensboro, NC.  

The purpose of this role is to Improve effectiveness by delivering infrastructure, logistics and electronic in-field data capture improvements to Crop Protection Field Development and other groups in Crop Protection Product Development.  Improve biological data development capability through support of digital data capture hardware and software.

Accountabilities

• Manage and maintain biological data information systems of web sites, team spaces and technical documentation

• Develop functional software data management prototypes

• Deploy, train, and support electronic in-field data capture [EDC] capability

• Support the use of digital data capture [DDC], including sensors, imaging, robots and drones

• Work with R&D IT team to manage deployment of laptops

• Support the implementation of the trialing data capture systems and ensure high data quality and consistency

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States

• Requires B.A./B.S. or Associates degree with 3 years’ experience in a role which included applied use of software tools. 

• Strong computer applications & operations background and trouble-shooting experience. 

• Expertise with electronic hardware and sensors

• At least one year of coding experience

• Experience with structured query language is a plus

• Familiarity with agricultural operations (farming) is a plus

• Travel Requirements – 15%
