R&D Scientist (Analytics)

Accountabilities

• Use Syngenta proprietary tools and systems to provide information to internal customers in the form of data searches, queries, summaries, visualizations, analyses, and reports.
• Provide support, guidance, and training to the user community in the use of proprietary tools for performing complex analyses.
• Conduct appropriate statistical analyses of product performance data for business needs.
• Develop and use predictive analytics tools to support product advancement.
• Serve on teams for development, testing, and implementation of new applications to better answer product development questions.
• Contribute to improving the use of statistics and analytical methods in field biology data analyses.

• M.S. degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ph.D. degree with 1-year relevant experience.
• Relevant fields:  Agricultural or plant-science-related fields of study (Agronomy, Horticulture,  Epidemiology, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Weed Science,) with an emphasis on statistics and data analysis.
• A minimum of 2 years in the current position is required (a requirement for internal applicants only).
• All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
• 15% travel will be required both domestically and internationally

Critical experience

Experience with the following:

• Field-based Crop Protection research, statistics, and data analysis
• New data technologies applied to field biology analytics
• Statistical tools and programming (e.g. SAS, JMP, R Shiny)
• Standardizing and summarizing biological field data.
