Quality Control Technician

The role is responsible for supporting laboratory activities related to testing of vegetable crops with an emphasis conducting seed health testing on vegetable seeds. This effort is to support Quality Control testing for basic and commercial seeds with the goal of delivering a customer focused world class supply.

Duties:

• Provide support for HSE compliance and continuous improvement for all QC testing activities.
• Perform assigned tasks in the seed health laboratory to meet demand levels and ensure optimum capacity is met.
• Participate in seed testing processes that are conducted in accordance with the Syngenta protocols and the National Seed Health System Rules.
• Support QC laboratory and testing activities as required by testing volumes.
• Support complaint and claims investigations as determined by method demands for samples. 
• Communicate sample test results and maintain accurate records.
• Provide testing support and analysis in making quality decisions related to inventory disposition that is compliance with Syngenta’s risk management policies, standards, and KPIs. 
• Support the development and validation of new seed health testing methodology.

• Experience in an international work environment; Ability to deal with various and diverse cultures and work habits.
• Fluent in English
• BS or higher in biological science or related area preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a laboratory or quality testing related function, (preferably in a seed company).
• Previous greenhouse and/or growth chamber experience preferred, but not required.
• Must have good computer skills, particularly in Excel, SAP, and/or other databases.
