This position exists as a federal regulatory requirement to ensure compliance with the EPA FIFRA Good Laboratory Practice Standards (GLPS) in 40 CFR Part 160.  This position is responsible for monitoring studies and facilities to ensure the facilities, equipment, personnel, methods, practices, and records are compliant with federal regulatory requirements as mandated by the EPA. The incumbent will conduct audits and inspections of protocols, audit/inspect study activities, data, and final reports. Accountabilities for this position include:

  • Audit study protocols, data, and final reports to ensure compliance with EPA FIFRA GLP regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Travel within the US to inspect facilities
  • Write and submit audit/inspection reports
  • Maintain communication and develop sound relationships with monitored groups
  • Stay current with trends and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct training for Good Laboratory Practices Standards (GLPS) and quality assurance.
  • Conduct APHIS trial assessments, eco-monitoring audits, and QM Stewardship audits
  • Review and revise QAU and Divisional SOPs

The position will be based at the Greensboro, NC site, on a hybrid work schedule and travel within the US up to 20% of the time, depending upon the QAU Team workload.


Qualifications

Required:

  • College degree in a scientific discipline with 2 to 4 years relevant experience
  • Multi-disciplinary studies, GLP Standards, GLP Advisories, QAU and Departmental SOPs, internal QAU memoranda, master schedule system, familiarity with equipment and methods, study protocols and EPA and OECD submittal guidelines
  • Previous employment in a scientific position in the areas of chemistry, field biology, biotechnology, analytical laboratory or QA auditor.   

Preferred:

  • Any experience and knowledge of the EPA FIFRA GLPS would be a definite plus.
  • Someone who has conducted GLP training is preferred
