Proteomics Lab Technician - Mass Spectrometry

The role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded person who enjoys working in a lab-based environment to provide support for ongoing proteomic projects. Within our laboratory you will work on a variety of projects supporting Crop Protection and Seeds businesses.  Projects require application of a variety of quantitative methodologies including, proteome-wide protein expression and post-translational modification profiling to fully characterize biological systems, chemical proteomics approaches to characterize novel mode-of-actions, and targeted quantification of endogenous and transgenic proteins. The main duties include routine proteomic sample preparation as well as operation and maintenance of state-of-the-art LC-MS instrumentation. 


Qualifications

Experience & Skills:

  • Ideally a background in protein chemistry or biochemistry, educated to degree level in life sciences or analytical sciences
  • Lab-based experience setting up and running assays.
  • Attention to detail
  • Good computer literacy skills
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team and to work without technical supervision
  • Well organized, to manage a variety of projects, ranging in complexity with different deadlines.
