You will be part of the Engineering Capital Project Group Europe in charge of all significant engineering projects execution (CAPEX) within the region (Active Ingredient plants, Formulation & Packaging plants, R&D facilities). The main objective of the different missions proposed is to work on efficiency of our project process from definition of scope until commissioning by using digitalization tools. During the period, you will be in contact with Engineering Managers, Projects engineers, technical subject matter experts, specialists of IT and digital tools. 

The duration of the internship is 6 month.

Digitalisation of Project process 

  • Support project teams in the definition of "how and when" to use 3D scan and Mixed Reality to support project execution. Identify the most valuable phase of project process to save engineering cost, align scope and customer requirements, accelerate delivery.  

  • Support automation of cost reporting process: Understand different steps of cost report creation & support development of an automated solution for project teams. 

  • Identify and reduce non-value added and repetitive tasks during project execution using Apps & digital tools (Power BI Smartsheet, Power Automate). Share solutions within Syngenta Engineering Community (Europe and other regions) 

 

Project Process efficiency: creation of commissioning guidance. 

  • Help in the definition of minimum requirements for a successful commissioning depending on type of projects, complexity, budget, planning, project organization. 

  • Collect and consolidate existing solutions available to develop a ready-to-use set of documents and best practices 

 

Project Process efficiency: installation factors & projects performance indicators 

  • Using the list of keys project performance indicators and historical data available, develop a tool to support data collection and project performance analysis within different regions for different types of engineering projects. 

  • Define calculation process and propose a tool to collect installation factors of main equipment’s. The objectives are to ease estimation phase of projects and to compare projects with similar scope.

Qualifications

  • Education from an engineering school or related fields such as chemical engineering, information technology, method processes, or digitalization. 

  • Basic knowledge of digitalization and workflow automation tools, such as Power Automate, Power App, Smartsheet, Power BI, MS Teams, Mural, etc. 

  • Basic knowledge of project process within the industry 

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues. 

  • A strong interest in technology and a desire to keep up-to-date with the latest digitalization and workflow automation trends and developments. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

  • Good knowledge of French and English, any other language is an advantage
