We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team at Syngenta Porriño. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing engineering projects within our manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Main Accountabilities will be:

  • Makes designs, studies and preliminary studies for new facilities, modifications, and renovations of existing ones. All of this, always in accordance with the engineering standards, procedures, HSE and legal requirements.
  • Determines project specifications by studying project/product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Determines and maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems in consultation with Engineering Manager.
  • Controls project costs and reports project status – objectives, timing, resources, costs – to the Engineering Manager, summarizing information. Make proposals for continuous improvement.
  • Carries out contractor supervision from the point of view of HSE and quality of work in the factory, considering the Safety and Environment procedures.
  • Maintains current drawings and P&ID of facilities and factory buildings Porrino.
  • Takes part in Process Risk Assessments (PRA) of the project.
  • Confirms successful implementation of project, following the Engineering standards and procedures.
  • Issues Permits to work and check that contractors stick to the HSE rules and standards.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • All these tasks always carried out in accordance with the engineering standards, procedures, HSE and legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must have:
    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
    • At least 2 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry
    • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and project management methodologies
    • Knowledge in Prevention Hazards at work.
    • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
  • Desirable experience:
    • Proficiency in CAD software and project management tools
    • Communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Project management
    • Lean Manufacturing
