Production Technician

To support that challenge, the Soybean Seed Production and Operations Team is currently seeking a Production Technician (Warehouse Lead) in Pekin, IL.

Accountabilities 

• Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities such as receiving, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality seeds, and securing the warehouse.
• Leading, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse productivity.
• Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Maintain inventory data accuracy in SAP 
• Assist in presentation of all safety training classes
• Perform Forklift Training and Certification process
• Operate a forklift to assist in the picking, staging, loading, and unloading deliveries as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of each load entering and leaving the warehouse of the assigned shift by assessing orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries
• Perform root cause investigations for non-conformities
• Maintaining records, reporting relevant information in a timely manner, and preparing any necessary documentation.
• Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper housekeeping protocols are meet on a daily basis by thorough inspection of the warehouse grounds.
• Communicating and coordinating with other departments, customers, and carriers
   

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience required.
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
• Must be able and willing to work any shift and potentially weekends during time sensitive periods of the year.
• Ability and willingness to lift 70lbs
• Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP and data entry software.
• Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement in standard ways of working
• Ability to obtain and retain a forklift driving certification
• Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy or related field
• Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or a similar management position
