The Seed Plant Treating and Packaging Department Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the seed treating and packaging department. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, ensuring adherence to established processes, procedures, and quality standards, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the seed treating and packaging technicians, ensuring efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain adherence to established processes, procedures, and workflows within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and promote a culture of safety among the team.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and audits to maintain high standards in seed treatment and packaging operations.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to technicians, fostering their skill development and knowledge enhancement.
  • Collaborate with other department Lead Technicians and managers to align operations and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Manage inventory levels, material requirements, and equipment maintenance for the department.
  • Maintain accurate records, generate reports, and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Lead Technician or leadership role, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of seed treatment and packaging processes, equipment, and quality standards is desired.
  • Familiarity with HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software applications.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
