For our new location in Muttenz (BL) we are looking for a Production Chemist (m/f/d) with immediate effect or by appointment. The plant is located in the Getec Park Swiss in Muttenz. Our technical development center Münchwilen is located in the immediate proximity, this will facilitate the collaboration from pilot plant to effective production.

As Production Chemist you will manage and lead several production lines. You are a key member of the project team for the introduction of new AI as a future user. You will be responsible for optimizing processes and meeting production and quality targets as well as compliance requirements. We are open for any kind of seniority level for this role.

  • Project team member as process receiver and owner for new AI introductions
  • Provides progress reports for commissioning, production, capacities, costs, optimization plans, risk, HSEQ, process transfers etc.
  • Initiates, implements, and documents continuous process improvements in manufacturing; coordination of production trials to support learning curve, capacity increase initiatives and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for production KPIs: OOS rate, OTIF, TPC reduction (product learning curve), process safety, ect.
  • Is the main contact person for stakeholders concerning a product, e.g. shift teams, supply chain, AI planning, logistics, QA/QC, PTAI, and waste management.
  • Supports high HSE standards in the plant in accordance with internal audit requirements
  • Shares chemistry background and information on potential process hazards and special hygiene issues with the team and participates in PRA where required
  • Is responsible for compliance with all regulations and guidelines relating to his function, in particular, regulations on HSEQ
  • Member of the local Emergency Management Team

Qualifications

  • A degree in chemistry and/or chemical engineering, typically with a PhD
  • Some years experience in chemical production, PRA, and plant introduction
  • Good background in synthetic organic chemistry, technical chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge of process safety, chemical reaction hazards, electrostatics and environmental issues
  • Good general knowledge of financial aspects from a chemical plant, continuous improvement and change management
  • Ability to work in an environment with constant changes and high uncertainties (late chemical process definition, production planning, project planning, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within teams
  • Fluent German and fluent English communication skills
