MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As a Product Design Manager, you will lead a team of creative, adaptable, and talented product designers to oversee the of generation of the end-to-end experience, from research and discovery, solutioning and prototyping to testing and validation.

You will partner across product squads to improve, optimize, and ensure our processes are efficient and effective. Ensure Designers have the right tools, training, and support to be successful whilst building relationships between Design and the rest of the organization.

Your main accountabilities will be:

  • Embed within a cross-functional product area and lead design across one or more products – from discovery, definition, development through to delivery. 
  • Proactively partner with existing Design Management, Product and Engineering to oversee and align the user experience of Syngenta’s diverse platform and family of products.
  • Interface between the organisation, business stakeholders and product management to coordinate all design related work.
  • Ensure customers’ needs are at the centre of our experiences, designs are inclusive, accessible, and compliant.
  • Manage, develop, coach and mentor Designers within the team.
  • Inform, mature, and help develop our design culture ensuring an open and collaborative working environment.
  • Build out, scale and maintain our internal Design Systems, standards, best practises, and guidelines.
  • Provide regular feedback to your team regarding performance, help shape and define clear career paths and tangible action plans to achieve them.
  • Adhere to and define standards regarding method and craft, people, process, and tools.
  • Provide and solicit feedback to ensure standards are met to continually raise the bar for quality and excellence.
  • Be an advocate for user centric design.

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • You have proven experience as a Design Manager or within a Product Design role at a senior level, leading, coaching, mentoring, and nurturing other Designers to create amazing user-centric experiences.
  • You can get stuck-in to design activities when required.
  • Deep understanding of design, craft, tools, processes and how to get the best from Designers.
  • You have hands-on experience with exploratory and evaluative research methods, understand their limitation and when, where to apply them.
  • You have previously established communities of practice and have clear ideas of how a modern product design function should operate.
  • You demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills, including effectively managing expectations and obtaining agreement on key objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of inclusive and accessible design.
  • Experience working on a farm or in the agriculture/digital agriculture industry is a nice to have.
