To support that challenge, the Formulations & Application Technology team is currently seeking a Product Application Specialist who will conduct crop protection product development with a primary focus on foliar and in furrow application technology.
This role includes laboratory and field trial accountabilities and is based in our Plattsville, ON research facility.
What will you do:
- Effectively collaborate with regional and global formulation development scientists, and production and supply teams to ensure products meet customer’s requirements and can be successfully applied
- Identify and evaluate emerging new application and product handling technologies
- Conduct ground and aerial application trials, robust fitness for use and supply chain testing including study report generation and communication of findings to key stakeholders
- Prepare application related portions of product label including directions for use
- Generate innovative technical content to promote application best practices campaign in technical marketing efforts
- Work with product marketing and technical development colleagues to find opportunities to differentiate and position our products for sustained competitive advantage
- Provide technical support to commercial team to address product service enquiries.
Qualifications
- Applicants should hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in an appropriate science or engineering discipline such as Chemical engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Applied Biology, Chemistry, or other Agricultural discipline
- Knowledge of biological and chemical/physical product performance criteria for products and suitable application techniques to optimize their performance
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment and operations
- Understanding of modern crop protection spray systems, including precision application and machine vision is desirable
- Experience in theory and practice of Application Science in crop protection in the laboratory and field
