Procurement Manager

Accountabilities

• Responsible for managing a Co-Formulant portfolio (surfactants, solvents, adjuvants…) of $50+ million including regional account management. 
• To ensure security and quality supply of Co-Formulants at a competitive price for Syngenta. 
• To lead or be a key member of multi-functional teams (Formulation Development, Regulatory, Planning, and Supply Chains) involved in the review of existing Co-Formulants and introduction of new Co-Formulants. 
• Ensures achievement of regional and global Year-on-Year savings
• To extract benefit from the supply relationships with suppliers
• To identify, select and negotiate commercial terms for purchasing an assigned portfolio of raw materials.
• Ensures company procedures and guidelines are followed and good business practices are maintained.
• Maintains relevant industry and marketplace knowledge to ensure competitive advantage.
• Develops and maintains internal client and external supplier relationships.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technical or Business field or equivalent experience.
•  Supply Chain experience of at least 10+ years with 5 years of Procurement experience 
• Understanding of chemical markets and suppliers within market
• Project team leadership (cross-functional with proven results)
• Negotiation and contracting with suppliers
• Commercial awareness and understanding business drivers.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Procurement policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant business systems specifically SAP.
• Demonstrated success in relationship building and influence skills to achieve desired outcomes.

Preferred Requirements

• Purchasing experience desirable
• Chemistry background preferred
