Syngenta is looking to recruit a Process Engineer to join their Process Technology Active Ingredient (PTAI) group in Grangemouth. Syngenta Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre has four active ingredient plants and one formulation plant making agricultural products for global distribution. As a Process Engineer, within PTAI, you would have the opportunity to work in a multi-discipline team supporting large scale fine chemical manufacturing plants within an upper tier COMAH site.
The focus of this role will, initially, be supporting the active ingredient plants with day-to-day troubleshooting, process optimisation, and capital improvement projects from initial feasibility studies right through to commissioning. This gives a unique opportunity for Process Engineers, looking to develop their skills, to apply theoretical concepts in a real environment with tangible benefit.
Syngenta provide an IChemE accredited training scheme to develop Engineers to chartered status.
Qualifications
- Preferably, experience in a Fine Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Design or Production environment.
- Knowledge of Process Risk Assessment systems (e.g. HAZOP etc.), and relevant HSE standards (Safety Instrument Systems, Pressure Relief and DSEAR etc).
- Sound knowledge of Process Engineering fundamentals, ideally, with practical experience.
- Analytical thinking to break down problems and analyse data.
- Be self-motivated and proactive; and be able to communicate clearly and well across different work levels and disciplines with the organisation.
- Strong team working skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Must have degree level education in Chemical or Process Engineering, 1st class / 2-1 Master’s degree.
- Chartered Member or working towards - IChemE (for UK only).
- Must be component in the use of relevant IT such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Visio.
