This is a technical leadership role whose primary focus is to provide technical leadership to several teams with the ability to bring energy and motivation to the teams.  Using best judgement, that role will balance technical compromises for agility of delivery

Duties

  • Holds technical accountability in a Business Domain Vertical
  • Lead several DevOps teams technically to ensure delivery to coding best practices, security and performance requirements
  • Develop and configure software with one of the several teams that come under that Business Domain Vertical
  • Work closely with enterprise & data architects, and Lead Business Analysts to plan and engineer planned work in 6-12 months ensuring full adoption of data strategy
  • Investigate & provide POC new technology and assess their fit for purpose for different business need
  • Align with other Business Domain Vertical leads on cross-vertical collabion needs (data, integration, etc.)
  • Reach out to other IT functions to get team blockers resolved

This is a hybrid setting position in our Durham, NC location.  Remote is possible if you live in the Eastern or Central time zone.


Qualifications

Required skills:

Expert knowledge of

  • Experience with headless and serverless applications, microservices and AWS technologies (Lambda, SQS, Kinesis, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Event Bridge etc.)
  • Microservices architecture and various design patterns. Should have developed microservices using Spring Boot/.Net/Python.
  • Experience with design and implementation of enterprise-level application and integration architectures using a RESTful approach. 
  • Java, .NET framework, Python, and at least one of the JavaScript framework (React, Angular) and NodeJS
  • Sound understanding of relational, columnar and NoSQL database concepts
  • GIT and CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Gradle and Maven. Should have hands on experience with Webpack, npm, babel, yarn

Good working knowledge of

  • Database design principles for transaction and analytical purposes. Worked with any of SQL Server/Oracle/PostgreSQL database
  • Infrastructure as code (i.e.: Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation, YAML Kubernetes configurations), Redhat OpenShift, DevOps platform (Chef Habitat) and familiarity with test frameworks
  • Unit testing using JUnit, PyUnit, NUnit, Mocha, Jest and Jasmine
  • Test Automation Tools like Selenium and Cucumber
  • Docker and Docker Hub; familiar with Dockerfile and ability to use in CI/CD pipeline
  • Code quality tools like SonarQube and ESLint
  • Monitoring tools like Grafana or Prometheus. Experience with Kibana and Elasticsearch would be a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a regulated environment, GXP setting
  • Familiar with Business Intelligence platforms like Tableau, PowerBI, QlikSense
  • Good communication skills
